The ALWD Guide to Legal Citation is a style guide compiled by the Association of Legal Writing Directors. This is an alternative citation manual (competitor with The Bluebook) for legal citations.

Updated appendices containing abbreviations, jurisdiction-specific sources and local rules, periodicals (more than 70 new titles added); new appendix addressing abbreviations for titles of BD Loose-leaf services. Every rule and example has been revisited and edited for depth and breadth of coverage as well as improved clarity. Shorter than the Fifth Edition (but with the same amount of information).

The Bluebook does not provide much guidance on how to cite international and foreign materials. In the 21st edition, Table 2 (Foreign Jurisdictions) has been moved completely online and is available here. You may need to consult additional resources such as the ones listed below to assist with citing international and foreign legal materials.
