Study Aids

The library does not collect textbooks used in law school courses, but we do provide students with access to a number of study aids, both in print and online.

The library provides access to various online study aids, including the following:

Aspen Learning Library This link opens in a new window
Formerly known as WK Online Study Aid Library, Aspen Learning Library contains online library of study aids from Wolters Kluwer including titles in the following series: Examples & Explanations (aka the "E&Es"), Emanuel Law Outlines, Glannon Guides, Emanuel CrunchTime, Casenote Legal Briefs and more
West Study Aids Subscription This link opens in a new window
Northwestern law students have access to West's Online Study Aids, which includes titles from the following Nutshells, Concise Hornbooks, Exam Pro, High Court Case Summaries, the Acing Series and Gilbert Law Summaries
CALI This link opens in a new window
Provides interactive lessons and tutorials to help students learn the law. The database includes over 900 lessons covering more than 40 legal education subject areas.

Law students and faculty need to have a CALI authentication code to create an account. Contact the reference desk (law-reference@law.northwestern.edu or 312-503-8450) to obtain an authorization code.

We are unable to offer access to Quimbee for 2024-25 and beyond due to an exorbitant price increase that is not financially feasible. For more information about this price increase, please see below.
