Research Overview

The Pritzker Legal Research Center supports the research and information needs of the Northwestern Pritzker School of Law community.  Reference librarians are available to help patrons develop research strategies and to identify and locate resources. However, librarians do not perform research for our patrons or give legal advice. Research support is available at the library's reference desk, on the phone (312-503-8450), via chat at Ask PLRC and via email at law-reference@law.northwestern.edu.

NUsearch

NUsearch is the discovery tool for the Northwestern University Libraries' vast collection of books, journals, articles and multimedia.  It can help you discover books in the law library's collection, items from the Main Library or any of Northwestern's subject libraries and also articles in many of our electronic databases. 

Research Guides

To help you get started librarians have developed a number of Research Guides on topics ranging from Searching for Cases to Federal Legislative History to Beginning International Research.  We also have created research guides to aid students enrolled in specific classes, including the ITP courses and the clinics.

Databases

The Pritzker Legal Research Center maintains a curated list of research databases that are of most interest to the law community.  However, law students, staff and faculty have access to resources provided by University.  See the University Library for the full list of electronic resources.
