Case Dockets and Filings

This guide recommends strategies and resources for locating court case dockets and filings.

Overview and Coverage

Lexis+ offers extensive coverage of federal dockets.  However, unlike Bloomberg Law, actual documents are only selectively available and only docket abstracts, not the underlying documents, are searchable.

Coverage is as follows:

  • U.S. Supreme Court

  • U.S. Circuit Courts of Appeals

  • U.S. District Courts

  • U.S. Bankruptcy Courts

  • U.S. Court of Federal Claims

  • U.S. Court of International Trade

  • U.S. Tax Court

  • U.S. Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation

  • U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims

  • U.S. Patent Trial and Appeals Board

  • U.S. International Trade Commission

  • U.S. Trademark Trial and Appeals Board

For case types and current coverage, see United State Court Information on Lexis+.
