Government Structure

Portugal has a semi-presidential republic with a head of government (Prime Minister of Portugal) and a head of state (President of Portugal). The three branches consist of the Legislative Branch (Parliament - Assembly of the Republic), Executive Branch (Government headed by the Prime Minister), and Judicial Branch (Courts).

National Language

Portuguese is the official language of Portugal. Most legal materials are available only in Portuguese.
