Docket Research

Bloomberg Law is a go-to resource for locating dockets and filings for federal cases.  Meanwhile, Westlaw Edge, Lexis CourtLink, and Lexis+ are each useful for reviewing case dockets, but underlying court filings from the cases are typically not available on these platforms.

To locate state court dockets, all four of the above-mentioned resources are useful.  However, generally speaking, they do not provide access to the underlying filings.  If you are unable to locate the information you need, you may wish to try visiting the court's website or contacting the court clerk's office.

For helpful strategies and suggestions for dockets research, you may wish to review these brief tutorials from Clare Willis, Research & Instructional Services Librarian.
