Factual Research

Guide to researching people, businesses, news and more

Factual Research Overview

Attorneys spend the majority of their research efforts looking for cases, statutes and regulations. However, they also may need to research non-legal issues, such as factual information about clients or potential clients, experts, witnesses or companies or information about economic, medical or scientific issues.  This guide is designed to provide suggestions for databases to help you locate information about people, businesses, statistics, news and more.

For additional information about researching non-legal issues, see Northwestern University Libraries complete set of research guides and A-Z list of databases.
