This guide is intended to assist members of law journals at Northwestern Pritzker School of Law with writing and publishing Notes or Comments.

Creating Topic Alerts

After you have selected a topic and have confirmed that your topic has not been preempted, consider setting up alerts to automatically be notified of  recent developments and new publications on your topic. 

Lexis Advance

To create a Lexis Alert, select the bell icon at the top of the screen after conduct a search.

A pop-up screen will appear and allow you to customize your alert by adding a description, selecting the categories across which the search should be run automatically (e.g., secondary materials, legal news, etc.), and selecting delivery options (start and end date, frequency, etc.). 


To create a WestClip Alert, select the bell icon to access the "Create WestClip Alert" link after conducting a search.

A WestClip Alert pop-up box will appear, allowing you to name your alert, add a description, select content, enter search terms, customize delivery, and establish schedule settings.
